DAY 01: IQUITOS IN - CURAKA
Airport or hotel reception and brief tour of Iquitos' main historical attractions. Transfer to a private dock to board a speedboat and navigate the Itaya River, passing under the Nanay River Bridge, the longest in Peru. Continue along the Amazon River, searching for gray and pink river dolphins. Upon arrival at Cumaceba Curaka Inn, you'll be welcomed with a refreshing fruit drink and assigned to your private bungalow. After a traditional lunch of "Juane," enjoy a hike through the rainforest to explore its flora, fauna, and biodiversity. In the evening, after dinner, take a night walk to listen to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy stories narrated by your guide. Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 02: CURAKA LODGE
We'll begin with birdwatching in their natural habitat, either on foot or by canoe, followed by breakfast. Then, we'll visit a riverside villager to see animals like non-venomous boas, sloths, and turtles, as well as observe the traditional sugarcane juice extraction process and sample sugarcane products such as rum and molasses. We'll return to Cumaceba Curaka Inn for a typical lunch featuring "Patarashca" (a traditional dish). In the afternoon, we'll visit the riverside hamlet of "Gallito" to learn about their daily activities. Weather permitting, we'll enjoy a spectacular sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 03: CURAKA LODGE – IQUITOS OUT
Breakfast and a fishing tour along the banks of the Amazon River, catching species such as catfish and piranhas. We will continue with an observation of the Victoria Regia, the world's largest aquatic plant. Return to the lodge for a typical lunch featuring dorado fish. On the way back to Iquitos, we will visit the Bora native community to learn about their customs, dialect, clothing, and traditional dances. It is recommended to bring items to exchange for their handmade crafts. Arrival in the city of Iquitos and transfer to your hotel or the airport, with ongoing assistance.
